Sometimes, we get so lucky that it’s scary. Often that is paired with some unlucky moments. Sometimes, things just work out the way they are supposed to.
Unlucky #1: We wanted to go to the Bright Nights’ Adult Night, but it was while we were in Canada. So, we bought regular tickets and just picked the latest, 10pm, time slot. Tickets for the exhibit were benefitting a cause, so they were of the “no refunds or exchanges for any reason ever” type.
Unlucky #2: The day of our tickets, they announced a second Adult Night. We didn’t try to move tickets because of the policy.
Unlucky #3: Also on our evening, it was storming with rain, thunder, lightning, which is rare for Denver. When we stepped out of our building to get into the rideshare, I regretted not brining a raincoat. The driver even offered to wait while we ran up to get umbrellas, but we decided to be brave.
Lucky to ∞: We were two of less than a dozen visitors in the whole place. It didn’t even sprinkle, the lightning was so far away that we couldn’t hear the thunder, and we had a lovely and near-private experience. The ticket taker even gave us a weather-option in case we did get rained out of the exhibit. Their rules; their call to bend or break them.

Images of the exhibit can’t be used for any commercial purpose, but neither this blog nor our little YouTube channel have any advertising, so we’re good to show these ….just like the kids over on YucYak.
