My mom went to high school with some whackadoo named Beverly who tried to get all up in our family business when my mom died. She started drama on facebook in their Class group. Guess what, Beverly? We did everything my mom wanted for herself. Beverly also took it upon herself to create profiles on FindAGrave and upload pictures. Like I need that to manage, too. But here I am.
Wandering cemeteries taking pics of headstones and uploading highschool yearbook photos of the people you can find is a weird fuckin’ hobby. And if that is your weird fuckin’ hobby, that’s fine, but keep it to yourself. When an actual family member comes along, a decent person would relinquish the records to their ownership and let family manage it. But no, Beverly held control until I lodged a complaint with FAG. I did get control over my mom’s record (and my dad’s), but their dated system won’t let the owner delete photos. It seems that only the person who uploaded the photo can delete it. Well guess who died? Yup. Beverly. At least one of my problems is gone.
So why is this an issue now? Because some other woman is doing the same thing. Debra Lounsbury claims to be a niece of my grandfather. No, she isn’t. He didn’t have a brother named Jesse. As if any child of the 80s could forget if they had a (great) Uncle Jesse!! We don’t have any family in Enid, OK. However, she won’t relinquish ownership of his record to me. I literally said, “I’m their granddaughter, and I’ve never met you, but whatever.” Before I knew of Beverly’s death, I told Debra that we were being harassed via FAG and that she needed to give the record to his next of kin. So, I’ve also lodged a complaint against her with FAG.
I have never met either of these women. I’m the last of my family. There is no way that they have any legitimate reason to own these records for people who are not their family members.
In trying to decipher this, I reached out to my mom’s much younger cousin. J had never heard of this woman or an Uncle Jesse. I also reached out to my mom’s life-long friend who happens to be my dad’s first cousin, T. He is the one in the fb group since he and my mom were in the same class. He’d never heard of Debra, either.
Again, it’s a weird fuckin’ hobby. It’s like they think they’ll get into a better heaven if they think manage more profiles on this stupid site. My best guess is that Debra was friends with Beverly through the FAG site and their shared weird fuckin’ hobby.
