Current situation
It’s 26ΒΊ or something like that, outside as I (L) write this. And yet, there is no pretty sparkly white fluffy stuff. Ahem, no! We came up here for the (humanity and the) pretty sparkly white fluffy stuff, dammit.
(We had some snur–as a local weather nerd calls it–for like a minute. But it didn’t stick to urban.)
Film reference
To me, this feels like something from a movie.
[at her engagement party] “Oh, man, I’m completely and totally in love with [Mikey].
When I was little, my grandmother, she used to say: ‘You like because, and you love despite.’ You like someone because of all of their qualities, and you love someone despite some of their qualities.
Mikey…I like you almost as much as I love you, and I can’t wait to marry you.”
Becca, Set It Up
This little monologue kicks off the chain of “awwww” moments of the movie and includes a crescendoing, sappy, soundtrack that sounds a little too much like a tv ad spot.
To finish the analogy
Denver,
- Your drivers are insane, and the roads (and sidewalks) are worse.
- Brothy green chili makes food soggy, and local breweries think IPA is good beer.
- (And like every city/metro in the USA), You need to do better by those with lower incomes and mental health issues.
And yet, despite these things…
We like you almost as much as we love you, and we can’t wait to snur you again.
Can you please just make the pretty sparkly white fluffy stuff, already?

L here. Moments before I scheduled this post, E emerged from his gaming corner, looked out the kitchen window, and started to squeal and jiggle with excitement. It’s snowing, er, I mean, snuring. It’s almost as if I willed it with this post. E’s brother B jokingly “accused” me of being a witch; maybe he’s right.
